Username = Your UCLA Logon ID*
Password = Your UID (9-digit student #)
*If you do not have or know your UCLA Logon ID (i.e. <UCLA Logon ID>@ucla.edu), you will need to obtain an account ASAP. Summer students & students enrolled through Extension are eligible for UCLA Logon during the quarter(s) which they are enrolled. UCLA Logon assistance is located in 124 Kerckhoff. For further assistance, contact the Help Desk by telephone at 310-267-HELP (4357) or email at accounts@ucla.edu for further information.
Please note: Almost all login problems can be explained by reading the following. IF you do not find your situation listed here, submit your inquiry via the appropriate contact link below.
Some common reasons your login does not work:
Are
you using your UCLA Logon ID (username) and your UID (password)?
A UCLA Logon ID is the first part of your UCLA email
address: <UCLA Logon ID>@ucla.edu.
If you do not have an active UCLA Logon, you will not have an account in the
course website. Your UID is your 9-digit student number.
Did you just
enroll in the course within the last 2 days?
If you enrolled in the course within the last 2 business days, we may not
have received your enrollment information from the Registrar's Office yet. We
cannot add students to classes until we receive confirmation from the Registrar's
Office, which usually happens a day or two after you've processed your enrollment.
That is, even if URSA tells you that you are now enrolled in the course, it
usually takes about 24-48 hours (business days) for us to receive and upload
that information from the Registrar's Office. (Meanwhile, you can go to the
Computer Lab in 2127 LS to inquire about temporary access to a site.)
Did you just
activate your UCLA Logon ID within the last 3 days?
We have experienced significant delays (up
to 2-3 BUSINESS days) between UCLA Logon activation and when we actually receive enrollment
confirmation. We have NO control over UCLA Logon accounts, so if you delay in
setting up an account, you do so at your own risk. Your UCLA Logon information must
go from the UCLA Logon office to the Registrar's office, then to us. (Meanwhile, you
can go to the Computer Lab in 2127 LS to inquire about temporary access to a
site.)
Have you changed your UCLA Logon ID?
If you have recently changed your UCLA Logon ID, try logging in with your new ID. Depending on the timing of your change, you may be enrolled in your latest courses with your new or old UCLA Logon ID. Also, depending on your timing, you may NOT get enrolled at all if the Registrar's data gets confused and cannot link your new or old ID to your current courses. If you've tested your old AND new ID and still don't see your courses (after 2 BUSINESS days), send us a form and let us know both of your IDs, so we can look into it.
Are you making
up an incomplete and, therefore, not actually enrolled in the course
this quarter?
Have the
Instructor send an e-mail to webteam@lsic.ucla.edu and give his/her permission
for you to have access to the course website. Be sure they give your
First & Last Name, UCLA Logon ID, 9-digit UID and the course or we won't be able to activate
your account.
Are you logging
in, but getting a message saying there is no guest access or "Access Denied"
when you try to access certain areas of the site?
This means that you do not have a valid account in the course website (see above
for possible reasons).
Are you entering
your login information correctly?
Usernames and passwords are case sensitive. Be sure your CAPS LOCK is off.
Are you in need of Temporary Access?
If you are having enrollment problems but need access to the site before you can be enrolled, go to the computer lab in 2127 LS and ask how you can access a course site temporarily. Temporary access is available during the first 4 weeks of a regular quarter (Fall, Winter, Spring) or 2 weeks of a Summer Session. If you have not resolved your enrollment issues by the time the temporary access has expired, your access will be cut off until you do.
